In short: PolyTell uploads webpage content solely for real-time AI analysis. We do not store your personal data long-term, sell it, or use it for advertising.
1. Introduction
PolyTell ("we", "our", "us") is a Chrome browser extension that surfaces real-time Polymarket prediction odds alongside the news you read. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
By installing and using PolyTell, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Webpage Content
When you activate PolyTell on a webpage, we collect:
- Page URL — the web address of the page you are viewing.
- Page text paragraphs — the text content of the current page for AI analysis.
2.2 Anonymous User Identifier
We generate a random UUID (universally unique identifier) stored locally in your browser. This ID is used solely to manage request rate limits and does not contain any personally identifiable information (name, email, IP address, etc.).
2.3 What We Do NOT Collect
- Your name, email, or any account information
- Browsing history or activity outside of active PolyTell usage
- Cookies or tracking identifiers from third parties
- Form inputs, passwords, or any sensitive page data
3. How We Use Your Data
All collected data is used exclusively for the core functionality of the extension:
- Webpage URL and text are sent to our API server (api.polytell.app) to perform AI-powered event extraction and match relevant Polymarket predictions.
- The anonymous UUID is used to enforce fair usage rate limits.
We do NOT use your data for advertising, analytics profiling, or sale to third parties — ever.
4. Data Transmission & Storage
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted in transit).
- Webpage content sent to our API is processed in real time and not stored permanently. Temporary processing logs may be retained for up to 7 days for debugging purposes and are then automatically deleted.
- We do not maintain any user profiles or long-term data stores linked to your identity.
5. Third-Party Services
PolyTell interacts with the following third-party services:
- Polymarket — we query public Polymarket data to retrieve prediction market odds. No user data is shared with Polymarket.
- AI Model Provider — page content is processed by an AI model to extract relevant events. The AI provider processes data per our instructions and does not retain it.
- Payment Gateways (PayPal / WeChat Pay) — if you choose to top up your account balance, your payment is processed directly by secure third-party payment providers (PayPal or WeChat Pay). We do not collect, intercept, or store any of your financial information (such as credit card numbers or passwords).
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, server access controls, and regular security reviews to protect your data during transmission and processing.
7. Your Rights & Choices
- Opt out anytime — simply uninstall the extension to stop all data collection.
- Control when data is sent — PolyTell only analyzes pages when you actively trigger it. No background data collection occurs.
- Data deletion — contact us to request deletion of any temporarily stored data associated with your UUID.
8. Children's Privacy
PolyTell is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
